Brief Profile of Dr Rashmi Soni
A seasoned academician with over 24+ years of persistent commitment to imparting quality management education & research. CMA Dr Rashmi Soni, a fellow member of Cost and Management Accountants and Ph.D. in Finance. Currently working Area Chair Person Finance and Law Department and Professor of Finance at K J Somaiya Institute of Management Mumbai. She has more than 24 years of experience in the field of audit, research, training and teaching. She has done her PhD from Vikram University in the area of Credit rating methodology of banks in India. Dr Rashmi is alumi of IIM Indore. Done faculty development programs from IIM Kolkata, IIM Bangalore, and Aston University UK. She has published and presented many research papers in reputed international and national journals and also the recipient of the best research paper award.
She has been working in the area of Financial Management, Financial Statement analysis and reporting, Cost and Management Accountancy, Management of financial services, MSME, Sustainable development, and Management control systems. She has conducted training programs in the area of Finance, Cost Accountancy, and Financial statement analysis for numerous companies. She has taken FDPs for undergraduate and postgraduate faculties for teaching pedagogy and case study. She is on the editorial board of some leading management journals. She authored books on “Cost & Management Accounting” and “Financial Institutions Markets” for Mumbai University.
She is a recognized professor from the University of Mumbai for post-graduate programs. She is a Ph.D. guide of the University of Mumbai since July 2013 and PH. D. Guide for SomaiyaVidhyavihar University. 6 Scholars have successfully completed a PhD under her guidance and several others is pursuing doctoral research. She is also a visiting professor at Pokhara University, Kathmandu Nepal. She is a life member of the British Accounting & Finance Association, UK Member Accounting and Finance Association of Australia & NZ Member American Finance Association, USA Member Higher Education Forum of India.
She has awarded the 3E Scholar Excellence award 2017 and Best Professor in Financial Management by ICBM-AMP academic excellence award 2017 and Best Senior Faculty Award by DKIRF 2018 and CMA Womennovator Award 2020. She is continuously engaged in research and guiding students.
Her core area of teaching is – Financial Statement Analysis, Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuation, Strategic Financial Management, Cost and Management Accounting, Management Control system. She is chairperson of the National accreditation committee at her institute.
